Stage 3 - Phuket

We arrived safe and sound in Phuket this afternoon (Monday). The resort we are staying at here at Surin Beach (in Phuket) is absolutely GORGEOUS! It has a very open-air feeling as there is a roof overhead, but no walls, so you always feel like (and are!) you are outside. The resort and its rooms are centered around a large natural swimming pool, and our second-floor room has a great porch that overlooks the pool area. There are some great restauranta here at the hotel, as well as a relaxing spa, some shops, and a fitness center (we haven't exercised the entire trip and need to get a sweat in tomorrow!).

Across the road from the hotel is the beach, which is nestled in a National Park and is only a short 75 meter walk away. Upon our arrival this afternoon, we walked over to the beach and enjoyed a drink as we sat on the lounge chairs on the beach. Tomorrow we plan to wake up early, squeeze in a workout first thing, enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then head to the beach. We were told this evening that if we can get there by 9:30am, we'll have our choice of beach chairs wherever wwe want; if we come later than that, we might be out of luck.

There are a number of excursions from the hotel here, including snorkeling, sailing, and kayaking, some of which we'll likely take advantage over over the next few days that we have here in Phuket (we don't have to head home from this paradise until Saturday, thankfully!).

I think we've saved the best part of this honeymoon for last!!
