Obedience class
We had our first dog obedience class at the Humane Society this week, sans the dogs. Some of the topics discussed included selecting an appropriate leash (think we may need to step it up to the "pincher"), communicating more effectively with your dog (we think Layla only understands Italian right now), being a dog leader (then why am I holding the leash behind her when we walk??), anticipating and correcting the dog's behavior before rather than after the dog misbehaves (doggy ESP??), . We've attempted to implement some of what we learned at home, with mixed results, but hopefully the 6-week class will have Layla understanding when to use the salad fork and which glass is used for red wine!

Fun times! We are babysitting our friend's dog right now (they're out of town) and Queets is quite put out by the whole situation. He can't seem to understand why he no longer has our undivided attention, why this *other* dog has to come on walks with him, etc. He isn't mean about it, he's more passive-agressive and mopey about the whole thing. Pretty funny!
You will learn to speak "doggy" very soon. And it will both amaze and frighten you!
