I apologize for not checking in here for a little while. It's been a very busy week with work, getting ready for the shower...
This weekend was wonderful! Started off picking up Mary from the airport Friday morning after her cross-country red-eye flight from Seattle. After having brunch together, Mary was able to enjoy a relaxing Friday catching some sun at the pool, hitting the local pizza joint, and naking a much-needed nap while I was toiling away at work.
Friday night we enjoyed a great dinner in Smyrna with Bill's parents and Todd (Kelly was taking the preparations) and then I headed to pick up Sara (flying in from Boston) from the airport. So great that we've gotten to see each other so much recently! And of course it was great seeing tiny Sara with her growing bump!
Saturday morning it was off to the salon to get a trim and have the hair straightened by a professional (after trying to do it myself a few weekends ago, I quickly remembered why I wear it curly all of the time!) Mary joined me on the trip over to Buckhead and got to see some of the beauty of the Old South with our drive on West Paces Ferry. Those houses are amazing!
We got back home with time to change and get ready for the shower, and then off we went! The shower was at Todd/Kelly's house and it was wonderful! Their house looked terrific considering they are moving in 3 weeks. I must say, it was embarassing to see all of the sports photos of me throughout the years (some BAD hairdos!). Rhea, you'll be happy to know that our old Pittsford swim/dive team photo (circa 1992?) was on display for all to see!
Leslie, thank you for the cute games and more so for keeping them innocent. I think I was only truly embarrassed once!
It was so wonderful to see my family and friends from all different aspects of my life together in one place. So incredibly special to have everyone together and there to share in this happiness! Being surrounded by the people who mean the most to you - it doesn't get any better than that!! Thank you to everyone who came for making it such a special afternoon for me!!
And thank you to the wonderful host(ess)es (Susan, Kelly, Leslie, Sara, Rhea) for putting together such a great party - terrific (deli) food, delicious desserts, creative party favors (cookies were too cute!), clever themed-items, a fun collection of photos... It was a FABULOUS afternoon! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The fabulous shower ended with the arrival of the men, including my Sweetie, bearing a GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers. You are the BEST, Babe!
